Cedillo to Declare October as ‘Mes de Salud’ in Los Angeles
Partners with Consul General of Mexico, 100 organizations and LA County Public Health

Los Angeles—Councilmember Gil Cedillo will partner with the Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles, more than 100 community organizations (community clinics, government agencies and hospitals), and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, for the launch of "Health Month 2017," which will take place throughout October. Medical services can be complicated and expensive for immigrant communities. The aim of this initiative is to bring awareness about free or low cost health services to the Latino community in Los Angeles. This year Mes de Salud focuses on mental health in the Latino community.

Moreover, this coincides with the activities of the Binational Health Week, sponsored by other nations and the United States.
