Cedillo to Host Housing Rights Workshop Legal Clinic

Los Angeles—Councilmember Cedillo will host a housing rights workshop for the residents of the Pico Union community in CD1. Participants will receive a training from the Los Angeles Housing Community Investment Department (HCID) on the following:
• Renter and landlord responsibilities under the City’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance
• Allowable rent increases
• Legal reasons for evictions
• When is relocation assistance required
• Resources if living in unsafe or unhealthy conditions

Attorneys from Ferias Legales will be on hand to provide free legal consultations for individuals whose rights may have been violated, are experiencing an eviction, or find themselves in uninhabitable living conditions.
