Cedillo to Host Housing Rights Workshop in CD1

Los Angeles—Councilmember Cedillo will host a housing rights workshop for the residents around Hoover Elementary School in CD1. Participants will get important information from the Los Angeles Housing Community Investment Department (HCID) and housing advocates on issues pertaining to:
• Renter and landlord responsibilities under the City’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance
• Allowable rent increases
• Legal reasons for evictions
• When is relocation assistance required
• Resources if living in unsafe or unhealthy conditions
