Dia de Las Madres Housing Rights Workshop in CD1
Los Angeles—Councilmember Cedillo will host a housing rights workshop for residents of the University Park community in CD1, near USC. Participants will receive a training from the Los Angeles Housing Community Investment Department (HCID) on the following:
• Renter and landlord responsibilities under the City’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance
• Allowable rent increases
• Legal reasons for evictions
• When is relocation assistance required
• Resources if living in unsafe or unhealthy conditions
Attorneys from Ferias Legales will be on hand to provide free legal consultations for individuals whose rights may have been violated, are experiencing an eviction, or find themselves in uninhabitable living conditions.
