Cedillo/Wesson to Co-Introduce City of Sanctuary Resolution

Los Angeles—Councilmembers Cedillo and Wesson will co-introduce a resolution declaring Los Angeles a City of Sanctuary. At the Immigrant Affairs, Civil Rights, and Equity Committee earlier today, the City’s Immigrant Advocate Peter Schey outlined a strategy to protect Dreamers, in light of President Trump’s recent announcement to abolish the DACA program. He advised that President Trump's penalties to punish Sanctuary Cities has no basis in law and is meant only to intimidate local officials.
