WHAT: Stop Sign Installation

WHO: Councilmember Gil Cedillo; Los Angeles Department of Transportation; UPS Employees

WHEN: Thursday, August 13th at 10:00 am

WHYCouncilmember Cedillo and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) Central Division will inaugurate the installation of a new stop sign on the corner of James M. Wood Boulevard and Garland Avenue in CD1’s Westlake community. The issue has been of concern to community members and the nearby UPS warehouse workers. A UPS employee was recently struck by a motorist on the unprotected crosswalk on James M. Wood Boulevard. This is the third incident on this intersection in the past 2 years. LADOT has completed the process to install a stop sign, which will provide a higher level of protection for residents and employees of nearby businesses.
