WHY: Upon assuming office in June, 2013, Councilmember Cedillo launched the ‘Keep It Clean’ pilot program to tackle trash and illegally dumped bulky items in CD1. Based on the success of his pilot program, Mayor Eric Garcetti initiated executive directive #8 to expand the pilot citywide under the ‘Clean Streets’ Initiative. This investment of 66 new Bigbelly systems by Councilmember Cedillo is an expansion of his commitment to ‘Keep It Clean’ in the First Council District by providing the proper infrastructure for constituents to do their part.
