Cedillo/Huizar to Bring Disney’s Aladdin Cast to City Council
Promote Disney’s Aladdin Dual Language Edition Performance at Casa0101 in Boyle Heights

Los Angeles–Councilmember Cedillo and Huizar will co-present Disney’s Aladdin Dual Language Edition at tomorrow’s City Council meeting. The bilingual play opened Friday, January 13th at CASA 0101 Theater (2102 East First Street, Los Angeles 90033) in Boyle Heights. It’s a bilingual version of Disney’s Aladdin, the same story of a beloved Disney princess that finds true love with a boy from the streets who owns nothing more than a magic carpet.

You will find the same characters in a land inhabited with a Genie, royal translators, and fast-talking comedic bilingual animal sidekicks. However, there is a new back-story, the people in the palace speak Spanish and the people in the streets speak only English. The evil Jafar increases his power by using one of his wishes to divide the formerly bilingual people of Agrabah.
