This week was pretty quiet at City Hall, until we got news about the Olympics. In a surprise announcement, the International Olympic Committee voted to approve Los Angeles and Paris to host the Olympics on Tuesday.

The field was busy attending a quality of life committee dinner in Pico Union, attending a leadership conference, attending Summer Night Lights at Normandie Park, and Kept It Clean in Pico Union.

Have a good weekend.

On Tuesday, it was announced in an Olympics bidding process first, that Los Angeles and Paris will both be awarded hosting rights for the Olympics, the order is yet to be determined (2024 or 2028). This is major news, as this very public bidding process has catapulted Los Angeles as a serious contender on the global stage. Thank you Mayor Garcetti for carrying the torch. We look forward to more good news.
