Cedillo Celebrates Grand Opening of Riverside Drive Bridge and Roundabout

Los Angeles–Councilmember Cedillo will celebrate the grand opening of the newly constructed Riverside Drive Bridge and roundabout. This $60 million dollar investment, was made possible with funding from multiple sources: Federal Highway Bridge Program ($42 million), State Proposition 1B ($5 million), Metro Funds ($7 million), Proposition G Funds—local match ($6 million).

The new Riverside Drive Bridge is a smooth-curved bridge (approximately 1200 ft. in length) that includes a barrier protected auxiliary lane for pedestrians and bicyclists. This project is the first vehicular bridge in the City of LA that has a Class I Bike Path. At the end of the bridge, is a new multi-lane roundabout, which includes landscaping and a public art feature. This is the first modern multi-lane roundabout in the City of Los Angeles.
