Los Angeles—Councilmember Gil Cedillo, Chair of the Immigrant Affairs, Civil Rights and Equity Committee, will convene a meeting to discuss recommendations by the City’s Immigrant Advocate Peter Schey, and to discuss the ramifications of the newly approved SB54 at the state level.

Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA) to report on Motion (Cedillo - Wesson), which instructed the CLA to review the City's Immigrant and Civil Rights Advocate Special Report No. 1, which outlines a proposed strategy to address the actions and threats posed by the Trump Administration with respect to immigration, and to report on the feasibility of establishing a program for volunteer attorneys to provide letters of representation for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) participants; additionally, CLA to report on the review of Human Rights Commissions in other cities.
